It has been so long since I last posted something on this blog. I feel that it’s about time to give away a very useful update, useful for people who wish to become authors through self publishing, as my way of showing you that you can get something valuable from my blog, so enjoy reading…

Author’s Guide to Self Publishing

You want to self publish your book but don’t know how. You ask yourself, where to do I start? What should I do? Here’s an easy to follow guide on how you can get your book published.

Plan

Before you embark on your self publishing journey, you must first decide what your goal/s is/are. Most authors plan to share their story to the reading public; there are also some who just want to have enough copies for their family, friends and colleagues.

Choose

Books come in three forms; paperback, hardbound and e-book. Choose which format you would like to publish. You can choose all three if you want. There are lots of print-on-demand publishers that offer quality services (layout, editing. printing and production process). Secure an International Standard Book Number (ISBN). ISBN is the standard code for identifying books. Some print-on-demand companies provide this service.

Promote

Most print-on-demand publishers provide book marketing and promotion services if you want to create awareness and interest for your target readership. The marketing and promotional services that they provide help increase your book’s visibility.

Evaluate

During the marketing and promotion phrase, you must constantly keep track of everything. This way you would be aware which procedure works. You can also incorporate innovative ideas to further optimize your book sales.

Remember, the marketing phrase is an ongoing process. This basically means that it would take considerable amount of your time and effort. That is why some authors avail the marketing services offered by print-on-demand companies.
