If you have heard of the record holder for the longest run in the Guinness World Book of Records, one British merchant seaman succeeded in taking the longest walk in human history. He was 25 years old.
George Meegan is famous for his unbroken walk of the entire Western Hemisphere with no special equipment and financial backing. His self-published book The Longest Walk chronicles the entire voyage that commenced from Tierra Del Fuego, South America in 1977 to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska in 1983. He concluded his walk to Barrow in 2002 summing up the total distance of his journey to 19, 0919 miles in 2, 425 days.
Xlibris release, The Longest Walk, describes self-published author George Meegan as an adventurer, lecturer, and world traveler. Back when Central American was ripe from revolution, George Meegan’s account of the world that he sees is transparent in a documentary that illustrated the hardships and challenges he encountered.
